E.C.A. FOOD PRODUCTS is a sole proprietorship food processing business focused mainly in the marine (fresh shrimp fry), coconut, condiments and spices sector, that is based in Zamboanga City. Our product is categorized in the condiments and main food items, which targets the A to C market, age bracket from 13 to 50 years old, ranging from students to professionals who can tolerate spicy foods.


We are in the food processing industry. A growing industry in the Philippines provided the right management skills and broad knowledge in the trend of food manufacturing. We are also consistent in the Research and Development of our products specifically in its process, equipments customization and packaging requirements and regulations that apply in our country and in the export market. These are the constant change that we must apply on a regular basis particularly food regulations from the Food and Drugs agency.



Company history



The company started in June 04, 2004 as a backyard, part-time business making home cooked Bicol Express with Pork packed in microwavable plastic containers. The recipe has been in the family clan in the Bicol region and was brought by our mother when she transferred here in our city in the 60’s. The business started with a very small capital of Php 300.00 and using conventional kitchen utensils.



The product later evolved from plastic container to 8 oz. glass jar in August of that same year carrying the brand name: MAMA ATCHIN’S, named after our mother’s sister. Along with extensive research and development done by the owner getting from various sources including Department of Science and Technology’s Product Testing Laboratory as informal consultant. In 2005, our product passed the microbial and rancid test conducted by DOST and later improved our process and label designs. The following year, our business was formally registered as a legal business. We constantly conceptualize our design of our labels, posters and other merchandising materials needed to promote the product thru our design softwares but we are limited to the printing process wherein the costing of our label is expensive. Printings of our labels are done in a local printer with high quality resolution printing to maintain the quality of our design in our packaging.



As the FIRST Company to develop and manufacture MAMA ATCHIN’S BOTTLED BICOL EXPRESS, E.C.A. FOOD PRODUCTS commits in keeping its products safe and with the highest quality we can provide, we guarantee our consumer’s satisfaction. We are now setting our standards and customizing our system of operations in place in preparation for future upgrading and expansion of our business structure. With a unique quality product to introduce in the market, complete with our highly custom-made packaging designs, we are confident that our company will succeed in the following years to come. Our strength; we put PASSION and DEDICATION in producing our product. What inspired as to start the business and develop the product is the awareness of its potential in the market and along with that, we will be able to provide jobs, help increase the income of our local farmers and fishermen producing our raw ingredients and packaging materials and help promote ZAMBOANGA City’s identity to be one of the leading food producers in the Philippines. As the company’s present financial status, we have insufficient equipments that limit our production capacity and inadequate working capital. These are our present obstacles that the company are facing, preventing us to sustain the demand of our product in the local market. If given the opportunity to augment our production equipments and increase our working capital, we will be able to dominate our marketing area and even compete with other products specifically in Luzon where in the product is known.




In the next 5 years, E.C.A FOOD PRODUCTS will eventually evolve to be one of the leading producers of quality products and will be generating more jobs in our region and augmenting the income of our local farmers and fisher folks because of the rising demand that our product is producing. Surely, anyone can produce the Bicol Express, but not anyone can bottle it. Considering the technology of the product is perfectly new. Only our company has the technology very different from other food producer in other regions. These can be proven with the test results that we conducted. We will be constantly growing and focusing in the core business that we will be expanding gradually from product development, equipments acquisition and customization, plant upgrading and renovation to marketing and sales. By then, we will be increasing our production capacity and adding more unique products to offer our market in the following years.
